Let's Get Sketchy - August 15th Sketch

Hi crafty friends, welcome to my blog!

I can't believe it's mid August already. So, here's a new sketch from Let's Get Sketchy for 15th August challege

and here's my take

I love using mixed media for a layout but somehow I seldom use it. So this time I decided to apply mixed media for my layout.

I used a stencil from Kaisercraft, which I love so much. I used light pink ink over the stencil to create subtle yet interesting texture for my page. Next I splattered gold, black and pink color shine mist from Heidi Swapp to create even more texture. I really love the end result!

Thanks so much for stopping by and do take time to play along. Don't forget to link up your layout at Let's Get Sketchy blog so you'll get a chance to win the fabulous prize!

Have a fabulous day and happy crafting!

Let's Get Sketchy - August 1st Sketch

Welcome to my blog my crafty friends.. :)

Today I want to share a new sketch from Let's Get Sketchy for their August 1st installment

and here's my take

This sketch was quite challenging for me as I had to cut out tons of strips of paper. But I really like the end result though!

I used papers from Amy Tangerine collection called Ready Set Go. I really love the bright colour and the paper variety is awesome. It really suits my scrapbook style.

I cut the Young, Wild and Free title using Kaisercraft decorative dies. I cut the tittle several times to add more dimension so it will be sturdy and look like Thickers.

Thanks so much for stopping by and do take time to play along. Don't forget to link up your layout at Let's Get Sketchy blog so you'll get a chance to win the fabulous prize!

Have a great day and happy crafting!

Let's Get Sketchy - July 15th Sketch

Hi crafty friends, welcome to my blog!

The new and wonderful sketch from Let's Get Sketchy has been revealed!

Here's the sketch for 15th July

Here's my take

I was in the mood of scrapping old photo of my kid lately and this this time was no exception. I chose a photo of my daughter when she's about 10 or 11 years old, looking extremely happy posing on a horse at De Ranch Lembang.

I used My Mind's Eye collection from my stash to create this layout. I love the bright color and the flowers on the paper. It just screamed for summer don't you think!

The collection was super easy to work with. I just layered several papers, added some stickers and gold Thickers, and die cut the word Remember the Good Times using a decorative dies from Kaisercraft. I wanted to add more dimension with the die cut word so it would look like Thickers. So I cut the word for seven times and just layered them on top of another to achieve the dimension I was looking for. I was super happy with the result.

Come hop on over to Let's Get Sketchy blog and play along with us, it's super fun!

Thank you for visiting my blog, have a great day and happy crafting!

Let's Get Sketchy - July 1st Sketch

Hello my crafty friends, welcome to my blog!

I can't believe it's July already! It seemed that only yesterday that I celebrated the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. Boy, time flies so quickly!

Well, 1st day of the month means new a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy. Here's the sketch created by Brenshevia

And here's my take

I decided to dig in deep into my stash so I used the long hoarded The Sweetest Things collection from My Mind's Eye. The papers in this collection are beautiful and really went well with the color of the photo. Perfect!

I was in the mood for mixed media when I created this layout. So I pulled out my stencils and used them to add extra textures on my layout.

I used tile mania stencil from Crafter's Workshop with orange tone ink that would match the color of the paper. I also used leaf stencil from Dyan Reaveley Dylusions with light green ink. Next I used Art Is stencil from Crafter's Workshop but this time with white texture paste so it would give an extra dimension to the page.

I really like the way it came up together. So lovely!

I hope you could play along with us at Let's Get Sketchy! Happy crafting!

Paper Issues February Challenge - Polka Dot Party

Hi crafty friends, welcome to my blog!

If you follow me on Instagram I bet you know how much I love challenge and Paper Issues has plenty of challenges every month.

So I want to share my page created for Polka Dot Party challenge back in February.

Here's my take:

Don't get me wrong, I love polka dot for scrapbooking but I hate it if I have to wear it for my outfit! I have zero outfit with polka dot pattern!

Ok, back to my page. These are photos of my daughter playing silly in my brother's house. She pretended to ride the skateboard. Boy, she can't skate, she can't even ride a bicycle! Can't you believe that!!

This page is a polka dot galore. There are polka dots everywhere from the background paper to the tittle! But hey, I love the way it turned out.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Let's Get Sketchy - April 1st Sketch

Hi crafty friends, welcome to my blog.

Can't believe it's April already, boy time flies!

I have not shared my April 1st sketch challenge for Let's Get Sketchy. Here's the sketch created by Brenshevia

And here's my take

I love this sketch so much and I tried to follow it as close as possible. So I used my trustworthy silhouette cameo to cut out the diamond shape on my patterned paper of my choice. I chose a neutral one because I will back the diamond shape with colorful papers.

After I finished backing up all the diamond shapes. I adhered my photo and embellished the page. I didn't over embellishing the page because the diamond shapes was already busy with several other pattern papers.

Well, I love the way it turned out. I hope you can join the challenge at Let's Get Sketchy blog and remember you have until April 31 to link up your layout.

Happy crafting!

Paper Issues - Old School Challenge

Hi everyone, welcome to my blog!

Each month Paper Issues has multiple challenges on their facebook group and I love their challenges!

This time I played along with a challenge called Old School. We must use vintage photo or simply print your photo in black & white.

Well, there's a first time for everything and this is the first time for me in the history of scrapbooking that I used black & white photo on my layout.

Here's my take for the challenge:

First, I cut out this beautiful Broken Hearts of Glass Background cut file from NeatNCraftyCutz using my Silhouette Cameo. Then I backed the paper with a paper from On Trend Collection by Crate Paper. Next I simply embellish the page with various embellishments from Crate Paper as well.

I super duper love the way it turned out. Safe to say that I love using black and white photo on my page from now on :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Enjoy The Ride

Hi everyone! Welcome to my blog.

My boy loves it when I took him to a supermarket. For him supermarket is a giant playground waiting to be explored :)

Well, he loved to sit in a supermarket trolley so his mama had to snap a photo of him. He looked so cute right!

I created a page to document this memory

I tell you, so much going on this single page. I die cut the tittle using Kaisercraft decorative die. I also die cut several cogs, stars and xoxo word. I die cut the cogs using white paper and colored them using Distress Paint by Rangers. So much fun!

I also used an old school technique, a fun technique that we scrapbooker often used it in the past when electronic cutting machine didn't exist. Can you guess what that is? Yes, it's punch! I punch the paper using Fiskars and EK Success punches. I have tons of punches in my collection and I determined to use them often whenever I make a layout.

Here are the close ups:

That's all for now. Thank you for stopping by on my blog.

Let's Get Sketchy - March 15th Sketch

Hi crafty friends, welcome to my blog!

Today I want to share the March 15th sketch by Let's Get Sketchy. I know, I know, it's a little bit late, but life has been hectic for me lately and I had no chance to post this sketch on time.

Anyway, here's the sketch created by none other Brenshevia herself. Isn't it great?

And here's my take

I used paper from Simple Stories collection. Since the pattern paper was already busy, I didn't add too many embellishments on my page. For an extra touch, I cut large flower cut file from Cocoa Vanilla Studio using my Silhouette Cameo. I adhere it on the left side of the photos to balance the look of the whole layout.

Thanks so much for stopping by and do play along with us. You have till March 31, 2018 to link up your layout to Lets Get Sketchy blog. Happy crafting!

Let's Get Sketchy - March 1st Sketch

Hi everyone, welcome to my blog!

It's March 1, 2018 and Let's Get Sketchy has another installment for this month. This time is a little bit difference because we have a moodboard to be used with the sketch.

Here are the moodboard and the great sketch by Brenshevia

I was totally in love with the color of the moodboard. When I first saw it, I knew that I had to use the paper from Good Day Sunshine lines from Simple Stories to document my vacation I had years ago in Phuket, Thailand.

Look at the color of the paper, isn't it gorgeous! It captured all the colors, the bright and shiny feel of summer outdoor shoot!

I cut three vertical strips of papers and one horizontal strip of paper to be tucked in behind my photo. I embellish the page with bunch of stickers from the collection as well and some bits and pieces from my stash.

Here are some close-ups

For the first time ever I add photo overlay over my photo. I have bunch of photo overlays from Simple Stories but I had never used any of them on my photo. Well, I was glad that I did it coz I am happy with the result!

Thanks so much for stopping by and do play along with us. You have till March 31, 2018 to link up your layout to Lets Get Sketchy blog. Happy crafting!

Happy Times

Hello crafty friends. welcome to my blog!

Last month, I joined Scraplift Sunday January 21st at Paper Issues. The inspiration came from a layout created by Elodie Lusseau.

When I saw the challenge, I knew that I had to use On Trend collection from Crate Paper that I've been hoarding for ages!

Here's my take

The collection has a beautiful paper with several tags on it. I just had to cut the tags and arrange them based on the inspiration layout. I love the heart doily paper that I tucked in behind my photo, so beautiful! Next I used bits and pieces from my stash to complete the layout. I love how easy this page came together.

Thank you for visiting! Wishing you a wonderful day!

Let's Get Sketchy - February 15th Sketch

Hi everyone, welcome to my blog!

It's time for another installment of Let'ss Get Sketchy. Here's the new sketch for February 15th created by Brenshevia

and here's my take

I used the September 2016 Cut File from Hip Kit Club. I simply cut it using white cardstock and adhere it to this beautiful rainbow paper from Simple Stories, Good Day Sunshine collection. I love that the cut file really pop over the paper. You must see it in person, it's so pretty.

Because the cut file and the paper was pretty busy, I didn't use too much embellishment on my page. I keep it simple to make the photos as the center of attention. I simply used stickers from the collection as well together with bits and pieces from my stash.

Remember to play along with us and link your layout to Let's Get Sketchy blog by February 28. We have $25.00 gift certificate from Kj Kareen for this month's winner.

Thank you for stopping by and happy crafting!

Hello Adventure

Hey everyone, welcome to my blog!

I love cut files. They're beautiful, versatile and could add wow elements in my page. My favourite sites to purchase cut files, besides Silhouette store, are Just Nick Studio and The Cut Shoppe. I have purchased tons of their cut files and determine to use them in every single layout that I made, I wish!

Now, I used Doodle Floral Circle Background cut file from Just Nick Studio for my page here. I enlarge the cut file so it filled most of my background paper. I chose floral paper from American Crafts old collection. Since the patterned paper is already bright and colourful, I backed the cut file with soft green paper to tone it down.

Close-up of the cut file:

The photo was taken from my recent vacation in Singapore. I used single large photo to really make it centre of attention. I also used clear sticker from Simple Stories that I simply put directly in the photo. Aren't these stickers lovely.. :)

Here's the close-up

I really love the way this page came out together. I'll be making more layouts with cut files for sure!

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!
